Story:
Kirito, was taken from his real name Kirigaya Kazuto. "Kiri--" from Kirigaya and "----to" from Kazuto. He was chosen as one of the 1,000 beta testers for the Closed Beta of «Sword Art Online», the first ever VRMMORPG for the NerveGear.

How he joined the game:
After the loss that Tenshi suffered in round 1, the Angel was looking for more members to increase the strength of her team. The angel heard rumors of a legendary "Beater" who cleared a game with his unique fighting style. This was the person the Angel was looking for, a person who will be able to carry her team to victory in the war. The angel was in the wild as she has suddenly attacked by 10 titans as she screams to help as Kirito came rushing down with his dual blades, cutting perfect slices in all titans necks. The angel was surprised with this as she pleased for Kirito's help as Kirito begins walking in the distance.
